| If you have got this far, then well done you and a very warm welcome to the Beige website. Perhaps you have read my philosophy statement? No? Ok then here is a little bit about me and my Gorgeous Beige shops.I’m a plus size woman always have been (well there were a couple of years in my youth when I resorted to diet pills but that’s another story) and always will be. Right now I’m a pear shaped size 20 top and size 22 bottom.
I trained at Harrods and spent many years in the fashion retail world…always at the luxury end. It has always been a source of annoyance to me that I couldn’t buy lovely clothes. I was earning a reasonable salary and I had to look good for work but I couldn’t find lovely plus size clothing.
I do remember many years ago shopping in Dickens and Jones plus department and there was always the fabulous Marina Rinaldi collection although as young woman in her 20s it wasn’t always the look I wanted. Now at age 53 I absolutely adore the Marina Rinaldi collection.
To cut a long story short 10 years ago I was able to open my dream shop, the first Beige opened in North London and then we soon had our second branch open in London’s West End. The third, Beige in the City opened in September 2009.

Whilst now in middle age, I still remember what it’s like to be young and plump, so I have ensured that there are collections at Beige that will make all ages feel wonderful. Collections such as Yoek Persona Open End and Tia to name a few that have a young and contemporary feel to them.I have pledged that we will always have a large selection of jeans and trousers to fit all shapes and sizes and yes ages too. From harem pants to palazzo and leggings to Tummy Tuck jeans by NYDJ…oh yes and suiting. There will always be a trouser suitable for you.For several seasons now, dresses have been our best selling item. It’s difficult to find really lovely plus size dresses however I believe that we have the cream of the crop. Anna Scholz, Tia, Elena Miro, Yoek, Marina Rinaldi and much more. You can have dressy dresses (excuse the pun) maxi dresses sexy dresses, dresses to wear to work, frocks for Ascot, gowns for black tie dos and mother of the bride. Dresses to cruise in, dresses to layer over leggings… phew? Did I leave anything out?So to all you plus size ladies (actually I prefer to refer to us all as curvy girls, however I’m told for the sake of the search engine that will help you to find us I have to use the plus word) I do hope that one day you will come and visit a branch of Beige. You won’t be disappointed I promise. Send me an email to let me know how you got on. |
