The term plus size has been one that has become incredibly more familiar over the years and we are gradually seeing changes within the fashion industry that show more and more appreciation for the fuller figured woman.
We have started to buy for SS14 and I’m so excited because we are off to Milan to see the Elena Miro collection. Even after 11 years of buying plus size fashion I still get a thrill when I walk into their show room. Elena Miro is one of the few collections that really understand how a curvy woman should dress. There isn’t any compromise on quality or style.
I have a soft spot for Harrods (I trained there as a buyer) and now as a plump (well fat actually) woman? ….. girl? I can’t believe that yet another store has decided to banish me from their midst. You may have read my other blogs, regarding Selfridges and seen my comments about Harvey Nichols.

When it comes to discussing plus size designers, only one truly springs to mind. Anna Scholz is probably the industries most recognised plus size designer with one of her specialties being the perfect plus size dress.
Elena Miro is a chic, Italian fashion house that has been catering for the plus size woman since 1985.

We plus size girls all groan when we are invited to some special event. What are we going to wear? Where are you going? your best friends wedding? Your parents golden wedding anniversary? Or it’s your daughter’s wedding?
I recently did a review of the West Ends ‘plus shopping’ and mentioned then that Selfridges had gotten rid of all its plus size designers (there was at one time a good plus department in Selfridges) and grudgingly kept only Marina Rinaldi.
